The qualities of a Pulsar. Pulsar is an open dynamic headphone, driven by a powerful twin pulse isobaric motor with revolver drive for absolute control of the diaphragm movement. Given the exceptional weight/power ratio generated by 40 neodymium magnets, arranged to concentrate the magnetic flux on the moving coil, the four drives push the motor assembly to capture every sound detail, right down to the threshold of audibility. Pulsar is characterised by its extraordinary analytical capabilities, maintaining high acoustic resolution and offering a much wider dynamic range than other headphones of the same type. The speed of sound transients allows you to distinguish each instrument even in the most intense orchestral passages. Pulsar has an aluminium frame with special inertial properties, thanks to the anti-reflective and anti-resonant treatment made with a combination of materials including Dinamat Extreme. The fixed cable, with double wiring with 16+16 copper and silver wires soldered directly to the motor unit, allows for effective transmission of the musical signal. Pulsar is designed to ensure maximum comfort thanks to its soft headband and weight distribution. The design guarantees naturalness and openness of sound, while an advanced ventilation system projects the soundstage outside the head.
Twin Pulse Isobaric System®
TheTwin Pulse Isobaric System®motor unit is the first isobaric system applied to a headphone. Two high-performance drivers, connected in series, move in synchronisation across the entire audio range, allowing the airflow from the ventilation ducts to be channelled quickly. The results: excellent acceleration times; halved mobile unit excursion, limiting distortion and dynamic compression; doubled power load; doubled 64 Ohm impedance for easy driving with a wide range of amplifiers.
Ventilation Pad System 4.0
The pads, developed based on the Spirit design by industry leader Dekoni, incorporate the Ventilation Pad System 4.0, an additive manufacturing architecture that ventilates the ear chamber while maintaining optimal heat and humidity levels. The structure, completely redesigned in 2025, is combined with a new driver configuration that once again changes the standard for Spirit's top-of-the-range headphones. The substantial improvement in sound goes in three directions: — Three-dimensional external sound stage — Extended frequency response in the sub-bass range — Greater ease of driving with tube amplifiers The acoustic labyrinth, ear chamber pressure relief and ear height register, high-performance materials and 3D printing technology form a system of innovations that ensure maximum comfort for long listening sessions.
Pulsar is the result of a process involving various industrial sectors, from precision mechanics to additive manufacturing, from chemistry to leather goods, from electrical engineering to carpentry, in an ecosystem of Italian specialists that includes 11 major companies in addition to Spirit itself. Building a Pulsar requires 140 components, 19 different types of materials, 5 hours of assembly and 100 hours of running-in.
